Loraine is an award-winning documentary film author, director and producer from Berlin with a strong eye for in-depth storytelling focussing on social issues. With engaging perspectives on personal stories, as well as current and historical events, her films are on the pulse of the times and make them relevant to us all. Diversity is more than just an aspect of her work - it is at the very core of her creative vision. With her German-Ghanaian background, these issues are not just a slogan for her, but a lived reality that is reflected in the majority of her projects. She is actively committed to empowering underrepresented voices and narratives that are often overlooked. Her projects strive to create a space for dialogue and understanding that celebrates the diversity of human experience. After studying Theatre and Media Studies, Sociology and French Literature, she also obtained her Master of Arts in Documentary Practice at the University of Bristol in 2012. Since then, Loraine has had an impressive and varied career. As a director, producer and archive producer, she has worked on a variety of documentaries, cultural reports and documentary series for German public broadcasters such as ZDF, WDR, NDR, arte and 3sat. Loraine is an alumni of the IDFAcademy of the International Documentary Film Festival and her projects have been successfully supported by renowned funding programmes and scholarships such as BKM, MV Filmförderung, Robert Bosch - Grenzgänger Programm and the Berliner funding programme for women artists. She is currently in post-production on her second feature-length documentary film "Abseits - Eichi und der FC Pio" for ZDF - Kleines Fernsehspiel. The film was also selected for the Good Media Lab to develop successful impact strategies and build collaborations with business and politics.
